Cladding - Integrating water collection

Before production began I wanted the eco technology to become integral to the houses structure and not just added as an after thought. One way I am addressing this is combining the exterior cladding with a rainwater collection system.
The idea was to place large hexagon shaped plated on the sides of the house with channels modelled into the sides of the plates, allowing rainwater to flow down, to be collected at the bottom.
Along with being a functional system this would be an aesthetically impressive feature of the house.
The idea was inspired by this image of bathroom tiles:

As an added visual feature single plates were added at the bottom, in the direction of the flowing water. 

This test render revealed a problem with the current construction of the hexagon cladding. The plates were placed too close together which made it difficult to make out the hexagon pattern from a distance. This would have to be corrected or the design would be lost. 

This was the result of redoing the hexagon cladding, the pattern is now much more visible and it's function is communicated  more effectively.  

As an added visual feature some of the hexagon plates were extruded from the side of the building, adding a modern finish.
